Dr. Theodoros Kourempanas

I studied archeology at the University of Crete (1999-2003) and at the University of Tübingen with the European programme Erasmus. I did my doctorate dissertation at the Sorbonne University (2005-2008) on the Hellenistic coins of Thessaloniki. I participated in excavations at Eleutherna (Crete), Ancient Messene and Epidaurus. During my studies I worked for the identification of ancient coins from the Keramikos of Athens and from Delos in cooperation with the German and French Schools of Archeology in Athens as well as at the National Research Foundation in Athens for the study of ancient macedonian coins. I have participated in archeological congresses in Greece and abroad. I have published articles in scientific journals, periodicals and collective volumes. I work for the Hellenic Archeological Service since 2008. I am member of the French Numismatic Society, the Royal Numismatic Society in London and member of the council of the Hellenic Numismatic Society.
